Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i Elliptical Review – Benefits:
Folds Up To Save Space
While you can find a lot of home treadmills that fold up, it’s almost impossible to find a folding elliptical (of any quality).
But the Spacesaver SE7i has a specialized frame that lets you fold it up and move it away (using the rear mounted wheels) for easy storage. It’s so compact that you can even store it vertically in a closet or any corner of your home.
Plus the heavy 8 kg flywheel helps to add stability and anchor the machine for smoother, more stable workouts when unfolded.
Power Adjustable Incline
Incline changes the slope of your running path – helping you to target and train different lower body muscles.
While incline is not necessary to have, a lot of people like having incline on their elliptical since it gives them a more optimal crosstraining workout.
You get from 0 – 10 degree incline on the Spacesaver SE7i. You can change the settings from your console mid-workout for on-the-fly changes.
Backlit Console with Tablet Holder
The console on the SE7i trainer is dual color and backlit, making it easy to read your workout stats. There’s also a scrolling message board leading you through your workout.
The console shows your speed, time, distance, pulse and calories burned. Plus you can see your progress on a visual, quarter-mile racetrack, which many people prefer.
There’s also a sturdy bracket above the console to hold your tablet. So you can attach your tablet and watch your favorite shows or just surf the net as you run.
You can also use your tablet to connect to iFit coach and explore famous world trails or take part in fitness classes from the comfort of your own home (see below).
Explore the World with iFit
The Nordictrack folding SE7i elliptical comes compatible with iFit Coach.
With iFit you can run trails all over the world – from Paris to New Zealand and watch real landmarks pass you by in your tablet screen.
You can also follow your favorite personal trainers as they lead you through workouts from the Swiss Alps to the shores of Greece – right from your console.
iFit Coach also lets you track your workouts over time, set new goals and even track and improve things like your food or sleep patterns for better overall health.
Customize your workouts even more with the adjustable pedals. The Spacesaver SE7i has pedals that have 3 different toe-heel angles. So you can choose the best fit and feel for you.
Play Your Favorite Tunes As You Run
There’s also a port for your iPod or other compatible device. You can plug it in and play your favorite workout music through the console speakers.
Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i Elliptical Review – What You Should Know:
Dual Color Console
The color is only dual color on this trainer (unlike the higher end Nordictrack trainers that have a full-color console).
If you want to try iFit Coach (it’s optional), you’ll need to buy an online subscription (about £79 per year). Also note that you’ll need to connect to iFit through your tablet.
If you don’t have a tablet, you won’t get as much use out of iFit as you won’t be able to see the workout videos or the scenery of whatever trail you’re running.
If you have a smaller workout area – or just want an elliptical that you can fold up and move out of the way easily, the Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i is a great option.
It’s easy to fold up and store away (even vertically) however it’s also feels strong and stable with a heavy flywheel for added stability.
Plus with the incline option you get added crosstraining for a better workout. And the iFit Coach, iPod dock and tablet holder give you some fun entertainment options.
